General Overview

At a senior level, monitors, tracks and performs analysis related to power plant regulatory compliance.  Compliance activities include those related to environmental, NERC and other various regulatory requirements associated with power plant operations and maintenance.  Provides expertise and counsel to management related to compliance activities and potential issues.  This position utilizes in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve services.  Takes a new perspective to solve complex problems.  Works independently and receives minimal guidance.  Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.  May direct the work of other staff members.


  • Coordinates with corporate compliance office to ensure compliance efforts are aligned with LCRA enterprise-wide compliance initiatives.
  • Acts as a business liaison, providing key information and strategic contributions to proactively address compliance with regulatory requirements and/or protocols and operating guidelines.  Communicates compliance requirements to internal stakeholders as necessary.
  • Advises assigned group of pending revisions and / or changes in regulations and standards and anticipates impact on internal procedures.  
  • Investigates incidents of potential non-compliance with regulatory requirements, standards and protocols.  Recommends and implements remedial measures to reduce the risk of future incidents.
  • Creates and delivers detailed technical reports to management on various power plant regulatory matters, including incident investigations. 
  • Assists in defining records management structure, storage locations, retention requirements, and file naming conventions to ensure safekeeping of all objective evidence records used to demonstrate compliance.  Implements and maintains records management structure, storage locations, retention requirements and file naming conventions of all objective evidence records used to demonstrate compliance. 
  • Develops and delivers training to internal stakeholders regarding regulatory compliance activities and the associated documentation of evidence that proves compliance.
  • Participates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in development and revision of processes and procedures.
  • Participates and cooperates with compliance audits by both internal and external entities.

Minimum Qualifications

Nine or more years of experience in regulatory analysis, regulatory compliance, engineering, industrial operations/maintenance, including four or more years of experience related to electrical power generation operations.  A degree(s) in engineering, computer science, math, science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
