General Overview

At an entry level, assists in producing safety related communications for release inside LCRA concerning updates, changes and training opportunities in safety. This position develops competence by performing structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.

  • Develops expertise as a training coordinator of the company’s Safety Learning Management System.
  • Identifies and contributes to strategies for safety related communications.
  • Works with the Corporate Communications team to develop news releases, feature stories, visual graphics, Web pages, photographs, etc. to be used in the strategic communications, marketing and public outreach campaigns to contribute to the overall safety mission of LCRA.
  • Researches and updates content of the Learning Management System to insure compliance with all regulatory requirements for safety training of LCRA employees.
  • Produces safety reports for distribution within LCRA.    
  • Produces accurate safety related communication that is consistent with LCRA’s safety mission and goal.
  • Assists in conducting ergonomic assessments and in the procurement of ergonomic equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Four or more years of experience in communications and/or customer service, administration of industrial safety and/or health programs, utility industry (mechanical and/or electrical), safety training or compliance. A degree(s) in business, industrial maintenance, health and safety, education, communications, journalism, public relations or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
