  • General Overview

    Preferred candidates will have the following experience:

    JIRA or other process management software

    Tableau or other data visualization software

    Experience in data migration between various database platforms

     

     

    At an intermediate level, manages and maintains production and non-production databases.  Assists in defining standards and design of physical data storage and provides maintenance, access and security administration.  Performs backup and recovery on database management systems, configures database parameters, designs prototypes against logical data models and defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.  This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills.  Utilizes discretion and independent judgment to determine an appropriate approach within general parameters and some guidance from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.

    • Performs database administration and maintenance including database patch management and performance tuning.
    • Provides database support to customers for applications development, testing and operations.
    • Installs and upgrades database system software using defined processes, standards and guidelines.
    • Maintains database security procedures by updating documentation, implementing security measures and providing user account management of database environments.
    • Maintains database change and configuration management using approved LCRA change and configuration management tools.
    • Develops, implements and maintains database backup and recovery plans and procedures using software vendor backup utilities and LCRA backup software.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Six or more years of experience in database management system design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.  A degree(s) in computer science, information technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
