At an intermediate level, performs electrical work, including maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and/or removal of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, and/or control equipment such as motor control systems and interlocks, high voltage switchgear and protective relays. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.

Two or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
Successful completion through Level II of the electrician curriculum of the Power Plants’ Craft Qualification Program substitutes for two years of experience.
Driver’s license required for incumbents assigned to the dam & hydro function.
Class A Texas commercial driver’s license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.
FPP is home base, but will be required to travel to all LCRA locations
The following will be required of the new employee within 90 days from hire date:
Take the test for the Extinguisher Statue & Rules ES & R 1105
Take the test for Extinguisher Type B E-B-1105
Obtain and possess the knowledge to valve out fire hydrants and PIV`s
When valving out fire hydrants and PIV`s, have the ability to look at the prints and notify the control on what areas will be affected
Fill out reports on systems that you have been assigned to inspect.
These will pertain to all LCRA locations.
