  • General Overview

    LCRA is looking for an individual to support PeopleSoft General Ledger and Time and Labor modules. Only candidates with PeopleSoft Financials and Human Capital Management, or equivalent systems of size and complexity, will be considered. Specific job duties are detailed below.

     

    At an entry to intermediate level, assists with accounting related projects and provides assistance in the use of technology systems to support financial reporting business needs. This position may specialize in a particular business process and the related enterprise application (such as PeopleSoft, Maximo, etc.) or may be involved in the implementation of various applications to support multiple business processes. Develops partnerships with business work groups to identify financial reporting solutions. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.

     

    • Provides financial and managerial accounting reporting assistance to business units (BU’s) in support of business activities. Advises and supports the business in areas related to future state financial performance and strategy development.
    • Determines and documents reporting requirements through the build of reporting by working with information technology staff to facilitate technical changes to systems or data.
    • Designs and develops financial reports, including the preparation and consolidation of financial statements and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Designs and programs ad-hoc reports for legacy applications using query and reporting tools.
    • Analyzes business operations to understand process strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate/improve finance processes and functions. Designs new or modified processes to enable technical solutions and process automation.
    • May assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures related to financial reporting and/or technology process changes.
    • Works to improve the quality of financial data to drive business decision making and performance.
    • Summarizes and presents complex financial data.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Six or more years of experience in developing and documenting business requirements and serving as a finance/accounting liaison between business partners and IT. A degree(s) in accounting, business, computer science, information systems or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
