  • General Overview

    This position will heavily emphasize NERC compliance, especially the PRC-005-6 standard. Responsibilities will include acting as a SME on PRC-005-6 to performing an oversight function to ensure that LCRA TSC remains compliant. 

     

    The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electric utility protective relay systems and strong computer skills. Experience with SQL or basic background in computer, PLC, or microcontroller programming is preferred.

     

    At an entry to senior level performs assessment, coordination, scheduling and prioritization of maintenance, repair, capital improvement project (CIP), and customer work activities for the transmission system. Maintains data in the enterprise asset management system to ensure assets are maintained in a manner that support regulatory and maintenance requirements.

     

    • Monitors project completions, equipment installations and equipment removals to ensure effective asset tracking and maintenance plans are established.
    • Serves as a resource to internal staff. Participates in engineering, project management, construction and other various transmission system maintenance related meetings. Assists functional area staff in the development and implementation of maintenance programs, procedures and schedules.
    • Performs data entry in the enterprise asset management system.
    • Labels assets to correspond with the asset management system to ensure proper tracking and documentation of equipment in service.
    • Monitors resource availability for planned activities. Periodically reviews materials inventory to ensure adequate stock levels of materials required for planned activities.
    • Performs substation audits utilizing engineered one line drawings, construction drawings and technical information to verify all assets are documented and maintenance plans are established to support maintenance and regulatory requirements.
    • Verifies functionality of condition monitoring utilizing the enterprise asset management system and mobility solution.
    • Gathers maintenance information by traveling independently to various locations (substations, materials warehouses, transmission lines, etc.) as necessary.
    • Reviews fixed capital unit documentation to ensure the asset are properly accounted for.
    • Verifies accuracy of fixed capital unit implementations and reporting.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Transmission System Maintainence Reliabilty Coord I

    Four or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a transmission system environment or performing transmission system maintenance support duties. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

    Transmission System Maintainence Reliabilty Coord II

    Six or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a transmission system environment or performing transmission system maintenance support duties. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

    Nine or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a transmission system environment or performing transmission system maintenance support duties. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
