At an entry level, performs tasks in the performance of routine repairs, maintenance and/or construction and installation of high-voltage equipment as required by assigned work area. This position develops competence by performing structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.   - Assists more experienced employees by performing routine installation, maintenance, repair and operational / diagnostic tests related to electrical craft. At an intermediate level, performs or assists with installation, commissioning and maintenance of LCRA Transmission Services substation protective relaying, diagnostics, SCADA, measurement, metering, monitoring and control systems.  Assists in technical support to system operations, LCRA design and maintenance engineering groups and customers in the development and implementation of SCADA, metering, and protection systems. This position utilizes knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve services, but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills. At a senior level, provides software and hardware support for LCRA TSC’s real-time controls environments including the Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Substation Wide Area Network (SUBWAN), associated ancillary systems and servers in areas such as design, development, user administration, configuration, deployment, installation, tuning, monitoring, maintenance and updating.  Participates in managing incidents, problems and anomalies including recognition, analysis and resolution. Maintains awareness of NERC, FERC and ERCOT Reliability standards including Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards. Ensures compliance with applicable NERC standards. Develops and summarizes test results and records of substation equipment and associated equipment including trouble reports. - Performs complex troubleshooting of control circuits in various types of electrical utility equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, etc. - Performs low-voltage and high-voltage switching according to standard procedures and in coordination with System Operations personnel. - Reviews complex diagnostic survey work including but not limited to infrared, partial discharge measurement, battery impedance, battery strap resistance, acoustic emission and basic substation inspections. - Performs work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.) as scheduled. - Ensures appropriate processes, procedures and records are developed and maintained within the department. **Job located at Ferguson Power Plant**   At an intermediate level, performs data collection and inspection of equipment and machinery.  Assesses condition of equipment and machinery through the use of various testing and analysis techniques and methods.  This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills.  Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues. - Collects data on electrical, thermal, ultrasonic and pressure elements of equipment and machinery, including oil samples. Inspects equipment and machinery, both visually and through analysis of data. - Assesses the condition of equipment and machinery through interpretation and analysis of data. Performs vibration analysis.  Conducts electrical tests using thermography, partial discharge testing and motor current analysis.  Performs infrared scans.  Analyzes oil samples, ultrasonic readings and thermal data.  Documents and analyzes data trends.  - Communicates findings to management and peers regarding condition assessment of equipment and machinery.
